A driver cut into the path of an SUV at a highway intersection near Princeton, Minn., and was killed Thursday morning, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 7:15 a.m. at Hwy. 169 and 80th Street, about seven miles north of Princeton, the State Patrol said.

Rolina Karsten, 42, of nearby Pease, was killed.

Karsten's passenger, Maria L. Puffer, 46, of Oak Park, Minn., survived. The patrol has yet to say whether she was hurt. The SUV's driver, Nanette M. Minarich, of Fosston, Minn., was hospitalized in Princeton with noncritical injuries.

The SUV was heading south on Hwy. 169 and broadsided the car, which was heading east on 80th and "failed to yield," the patrol's report read.
