Hennepin County will be sending out notices to homeowners and businesses directly involved, but everyone in the affected area is invited to attend. For further information, contact traffic engineer Jeff Holstein at 763-493-8102, or online at jeff.holstein @brooklynpark.org

Recycling bins coming

Empty plastic bottles and soda cans now have their own special places in Ramsey County recreation areas.

More than 300 recycling bins will be placed in county parks, beaches, ice arenas and locker rooms by the end of the year. The outdoor containers are made by a Minnesota company that buys plastic bottles from Ramsey County recycling programs.

COON RAPIDS

NEW BRIGHTON

Cleanup Day in New Brighton

The city of New Brighton will hold its semiannual Cleanup Day 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 13. Residents can dispose of household items -- mattresses, couches, appliances, tires, tech waste and more -- not usually accepted by garbage haulers. Disposal fees, which vary depending on the item, subsidize the cost of the program. The dropoff site is at the New Brighton Maintenance Garage, 700 5th St. NW. Residents should bring proof of New Brighton residency.

For information, call City Hall at 651-638-2050 or go to ci.new-brighton.mn.us. Leaves and grass clippings are not accepted, but can be taken to the Ramsey County compost site. For information, go to www.co.ramsey.mn.us/ph/rt/collection_sites.htm#arden_hills.
