Last update: August 20, 2008 - 11:46 PM

A semitrailer truck went out of control before dawn Wednesday in Princeton, Minn., and crashed, killing the driver and spilling hundreds of gallons of fuel, the State Patrol said.

Ronald J. Altrichter, 66, of Randall, Minn., was driving east on Hwy. 95 shortly before 5:30 a.m. when his semi struck a guard rail.

A "medical condition may have contributed to the accident," the State Patrol said in a news release.

About 300 gallons of fuel spilled, the patrol said.
