Four new principals will take the reins in Anoka-Hennepin Schools on July 1. All four are internal hires with deep roots in the district.

Andover High School

Becky Brodeur will become Andover High's principal. She succeeds Rhonda Dean, who is leaving the district to become Washburn High School principal in Minneapolis. Brodeur has been an assistant principal at Coon Rapids High School and a science teacher at Andover High School.

Brodeur started her educational career with Anoka-Hennepin schools in 1999.

She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from Bethel College and completed the administrative licensure program at Hamline University.

Hamilton Elementary School, Coon Rapids

Melissa (Missy) Monson will become the next principal at Hamilton Elementary, where she started her career as a kindergarten teacher 16 years ago. Monson replaces retiring principal Diane Merritt.

Monson is currently an assistant principal at Eisenhower Elementary School in Coon Rapids. Monson has also taught at Crooked Lake Elementary School in Andover.

She earned her bachelor's degree from St. Cloud State University and her master's degree and administration licensure from St. Mary's University of Minnesota.

Jefferson Elementary School, Blaine

Mark Hansen will become Jefferson Elementary School's next principal, replacing retiring principal Marcia Beyer.

Hansen is currently the principal at Mississippi Elementary School in Coon Rapids.

He earned a bachelor's degree at Bethel College and a master's and principal licensure from St. Mary's University of Minnesota. He has spent his career in the Anoka-Hennepin School District, starting as an elementary teacher. He has had administrative roles at several elementary schools in the district.

Mississippi Elementary School, Coon Rapids

Neil Klund-Schubert will become the principal of Mississippi Elementary School.

He is currently serving as a principal on special assignment, supporting technology and information services at the district level. He has served as principal at Johnsville Elementary and Champlin Elementary School.

Klund-Schubert attended the Air Force Academy, earned a bachelor's degree from St. Cloud University and a master's and administrative licensure from St. Mary's University of Minnesota.
