The bus line that links St. Cloud with the Northstar commuter rail line to Minneapolis saw ridership grow last year for the fourth year in a row.

The Northstar Link commuter bus runs from St. Cloud to Big Lake, the northernmost point on the 41-mile rail line. Bus ridership increased by 9.4 percent in 2013, to more than 55,000 for the year, according to the Northstar Corridor Development Authority.

The bus primarily runs during weekday commutes, but also on weekends and for some events.

Ridership also increased last year on the Northstar commuter train, to more than 787,000, according to Metro Transit. The rail line has stations at Target Field in Minneapolis and in Fridley, Coon Rapids, Anoka, Ramsey and Elk River, as well as Big Lake.
