A Columbus woman has been charged in the death of a man whose body was found near her home not long after they chatted on Facebook.

Nou Zong Lee, 34, was charged in Anoka County District Court with one count of second-degree murder after the April 1 death of Doua Yang, 50, of Vadnais Heights, whose body was discovered in Columbus. He had been shot five times, authorities say.

According to the charges, Yang's car keys and more than $700 in cash remained in his pockets and it appeared he was shot while outside his vehicle. Yang's family told police that, on that night, he returned home from work, chatted on Facebook and left about 9 p.m.

Detectives searched Yang's account and found that he chatted with a person to whom he professed his love and said he wanted to meet with her. Police tracked the other account to Lee, who lived with her husband less than 3 miles from where Yang was killed.

Lee acknowledged to police that she was messaging Yang.

Lee is in the Anoka County jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
