Hettwer, 30, was one of four people in a car that crashed into a parked car just before 2 a.m. in the 22800 block of Zion Parkway in Oak Grove, according to Anoka County authorities.
The 25-year-old driver, a Minneapolis man, fled and was arrested two hours later. His first court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday morning. The Anoka County attorney's office will examine the case for possible charges, including criminal vehicular homicide, according to a county news release.
Police have said they suspect that alcohol played a role in the crash.
The other passengers, a 31-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, were hospitalized for injuries to their hands, arms and heads.
