Man accused of groping disabled teen at Brookdale Mall

A Minneapolis man is charged with sexual misconduct with a disabled teenager.

Last update: April 29, 2008 - 1:27 AM

A man who allegedly groped a mentally disabled teenager at Brookdale Mall in Brooklyn Center last weekend was charged this week with fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Troy Lee Haynes, 44, of Minneapolis, is accused of groping the 17-year-old, who suffers from Wilson's syndrome, as she used the restroom at the mall on Saturday.

The girl told police that Haynes, who was in custody, was a "perv," while Haynes claimed that the teenager was trying to get him into a janitor's closet and that all he did was "kiss her on the cheek."

Once jailed, Haynes admitted to police that he had groped the girl, police said.
