A man's body was found in park woods in Coon Rapids, and authorities suspect he might be 31-year-old Alan L. Taylor, who was reported missing late last month.

Police were notified about 6 p.m. Tuesday about the body, found near the intersection of Mississippi Boulevard and Uplander Street in undeveloped Anoka County park property, the Sheriff's Office said.

There was "no apparent trauma" to the body, according to a statement from the Sheriff's Office. An autopsy was scheduled to determine an identity and cause of death.

"At this point, there is likelihood that the body may be that of Alan Taylor," the statement said.

Taylor, who lives about 5 miles north of where the body was found, was seen by neighbors at about noon on Aug. 25 getting into a car. He was wearing shorts and no shirt, and there has been no activity on his cell phone or financial transaction cards, according to the Coon Rapids Police Department and the Sheriff's Office.

Taylor left his car at home, and relatives say he has never disappeared before, authorities added. "Family members are gravely concerned for his safety," read a statement distributed Tuesday by the Sheriff's Office.

Taylor had plans to begin school this week at Anoka Technical College and spend the Labor Day weekend with family, the Sheriff's Office said.
