Robbery. A TCF assistant manager reported that a man attempted to rob the bank, 585 NE. Northtown Dr. A bank teller told police that a man gave her a note demanding money. The man left the area in an unknown direction without any money because the teller wasn't able to get the cash drawer open. The FBI was contacted about the incident.

Auto theft. A vehicle was stolen from the 5300 block of Fremont Avenue N.
FEB. 27
Auto theft. A vehicle was stolen from the 6400 block of Beard Avenue N.
Burglary. A house in the 6400 block of Colfax Avenue N. was burglarized. There was forced entry.
FEB. 20
Burglary. A man in the 1700 block of 124th Avenue NW. reported that he and his wife were returning home when he noticed an upstairs bedroom light was on. He also found the front door had been kicked in. The homeowners checked the house and found it empty. The man said that whoever was in the house left through the lower-level sliding glass door. Footprints were found outside the door and around the house. The man said his wife's wooden jewelry box and jewelry were taken. A handgun, three magazines and Social Security cards were also missing.

Disorderly conduct. An employee at SuperAmerica reported an irate man yelling and hitting the ATM inside the store. Police arrived and spoke to the man, who said he was upset because the machine wouldn't return his ATM card. The store employee wanted the man to leave and not return. The man was warned for disorderly conduct and advised of the store employee's wishes.

Theft. A man in the 200 block of 106th Avenue NW. reported that sometime overnight some of his firewood stacked against the fence in his backyard was stolen. The man pointed out footprints and a possible wheelbarrow track that led to the neighbor's back door. The man said this neighbor has stolen wood before, but never took very much, so he didn't call police. The man asked police to tell the neighbor to stop stealing his wood.

Theft. A man parked his vehicle at the Texas Roadhouse parking lot and when he returned to the vehicle, the driver side window had been smashed out and a laptop was missing.

Burglary. A house in the 2300 block of 150th Avenue NE. was burglarized. Entry was gained through an unsecured garage door.

Burglary. A house in the 1000 block of 221st Avenue NE. was burglarized. Entry was gained by prying open the garage service door.
FEB. 20
Assault. A customer at the McDonald's drive-through became upset with her order and threatened the employee. The customer then came into the restaurant and demanded her money back. When her request was refused, she pushed the employee against a wall. The woman left when she was told that the police had been called.
FEB. 25
Theft. A man left Sam's Auto Parts after paying for two tires, but not the 16-inch rims and hub caps the tires were mounted on. The man put the items in his vehicle and fled. He was later contacted by police and told that he would be charged with theft. He responded by stating that he didn't care.
Theft. A woman parked her vehicle in the parking lot at Springbrook Nature Center. While she was gone, someone smashed the front passenger window and stole her purse, which was beneath the seat.
MARCH 2
Theft. A man had two rolls of quarters stolen from his vehicle overnight. The incident occurred in the 2600 block of Scotland Court.
FEB. 22 -- 29
Theft. The exhaust system, including the catalytic converter, was taken off a vehicle that was parked in a driveway in the 18700 block of NW. Run River Boulevard.
FEB. 25
Burglary. At 9 a.m., officers were called to Faith United Methodist Church regarding a burglary. An employee reported that several interior doors of the church had pry marks. No damage was found on the exterior doors. Police said there were obvious signs that many desks and file cabinets had been rummaged through. Hennepin County Crime Lab was called to process the scene. The employee reported the loss of about $7.
Theft. A 70-year-old man invited an unknown man and woman to his apartment at The Landings. He had met the couple at the bar earlier that night. While the couple was at the apartment, the man fell asleep. When he woke up around 3 a.m., he discovered his cash, credit cards, camera and cell phone were missing. He learned his credit card had already been used for purchases of about $200. Police contacted building management, who will review security footage for photos of the couple.
Property damage. The building manager at an apartment in the 3900 block of Foss Road reported damage to the wall and carpet of the apartment building. It appeared that eggs had been thrown on the wall and carpet. It also appeared water had been poured in the hallway. The manager told police that this has been an ongoing problem. Police received information on a possible suspect.
