Bank robber apparently strikes twice, this time in Arden Hills

Robber believed to have hit a Blaine TCF last week

Last update: February 22, 2008 - 11:05 PM

Authorities in the northern suburbs are searching for a bank robber who apparently struck for the second time this month.

On Wednesday, a man presented a teller at a TCF Bank in Arden Hills with a threatening note demanding money. The suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled toward a parking lot on the south side of a Cub Foods store at 3717 N. Lexington Av., said FBI spokesman Paul McCabe.

The robber is described as a white male about 50 years old, with gray hair and a few days growth of facial hair. He is about 6 feet, weighs 170 to 200 pounds and has a thin build.

When he robbed the bank around 5:40 p.m., the bandit was wearing round glasses with thick lenses, a black winter stocking cap, navy blue hooded jacket with a gray horizontal strip across the front and down the arms on the back side, faded blue jeans and brown boots.

Authorities believe the same man held up a TCF Bank in a Cub Foods in Blaine on Feb. 11.

Anybody with information is asked to call the FBI at 612-376-3200.
