The boyfriend of a woman found stabbed to death in her East Bethel home was charged Tuesday with second-degree intentional murder, according to court documents.

Raymond Robideau, 33, of East Bethel, faces murder charges from a hospital bed, where he's recovering from burns after attempting suicide by slitting his wrists and setting fire to the home where he was staying, police said.

Sharon Chouinard, 35, was found dead Saturday by her 14-year-old son, police said. She had been stabbed twice in the neck.

A little more than an hour after police were called to Chouinard's home, police in Princeton, Minn., were called to a home explosion. Robideau had been seen leaving the laundry room, his hair on fire and his wrists bleeding. Burns covered 25 percent of his body, police said.
