The redistricting of Anoka County has yet to be finalized, but it appears that six of the seven commissioners will be running for re-election this fall. Only longtime Commissioner Jim Kordiak apparently has avoided the political fray.

"It has been intimated to me from the beginning that I may find myself in the position of not having to run -- and today that is still true," Kordiak said.

That means that in addition to Rhonda Sivarajah, Dan Erhart and Carol LeDoux, whose terms expire this year anyway, Robyn West, Matt Look and Andy Westerberg also are expected to run.

The final redistricting will not be formally announced before May 1.

Among the other items board members are expected to address this week include the selection of a new veterans services director. Initial candidates included Ramsey Mayor Bob Ramsey and Rep. John Kriesel, R-Cottage Grove, Kordiak confirmed. Ramsey is not among the finalists, Kordiak said.
