YOUR GUIDE TO THE TWIN CITIES

A 17-year-old charged with raping three women in Minneapolis will stand trial as an adult.
Leonard R. Miles, who was 16 when he assaulted the women in September and October, has had more than 40 contacts with police since he was 12. He didn't know the victims, according to court documents.
In November Miles, of Columbia Heights, was charged with raping a woman who was walking home in the 2800 block of NE. Fillmore Street about 1 p.m. Oct. 5, according to court documents. Three weeks later, he grabbed another woman off her bicycle and raped her about 7 p.m. in the 1900 block of W. Broadway, the documents say.
The third rape was Sept. 20 near a house at James and 26th Avenues N. in Minneapolis. The attacker grabbed the woman and demanded money. He then forced her to have sex, the documents said. Afterward, he said, "Nice meeting you, you're not going to tell anyone."
DNA confirmed Miles was the suspect in all three assaults. He is also a suspect in an Anoka County rape case.
On Friday, he was certified to stand trial as an adult. He is being held at Hennepin County jail in lieu of $300,000 bail.
