A Coon Rapids road-rage incident in which a driver wounded a plainclothes police officer will be presented to an Anoka County grand jury in December for possible charges against one or both drivers, officials said.

Martin Treptow, 35, stopped shortly after he shot the Robbinsdale officer on June 7 and called Coon Rapids police. He said he fired at the other driver, whom he didn't know was an undercover officer, after a rolling argument during which the other driver pointed a gun at him, his wife and two children in the car. The officer, driving an unmarked car, was shot in both legs but didn't fire his gun. The 26-year-old officer, who hasn't been identified because he continues to work undercover, told a different version about who pulled a gun first, said Robbinsdale Chief Wayne Shellum.
