A Brooklyn Center police officer was injured Tuesday night when his squad car was hit by the driver of a minivan.
The officer suffered minor injuries.
The collision occurred shortly after 10 p.m. at the intersection of Brooklyn Boulevard and 51st Avenue North.
The officer was driving north on Brooklyn Boulevard when his car was hit by the southbound van, which was making a left turn.
He was taken to North Memorial Medical Center, where he was treated for "bumps and bruises but no broken bones," said Lt. Eric Roeske of the Minnesota State Patrol, which is investigating the accident.
The van's driver was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
