A 17-year-old boy died Saturday after being pulled from the water at an indoor water park in Brooklyn Park, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office reported.

Officers from the Sheriff's Office and the Brooklyn Park police and fire departments responded at 5 p.m. to a report of a possible drowning at the Grand Rios Ramada Hotel and Indoor Water Park.

The boy had been pulled from the bottom of a water slide, said Lisa Kiava of the Sheriff's Office.

CPR was administered to the victim and he was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where he later died.

The hotel bills the facility as one of the Midwest's largest indoor water parks.
