Colorado motorcyclist killed in crash in Sherburne County

A Colorado man died Sunday after a Sherburne County motorcycle crash.
Thomas J. Gardas, 59, of Idaho Springs, Colo., crashed about 11 a.m. Sunday at County Road 43 and 176th Street in Big Lake Township. He was pronounced dead an hour later at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
A female passenger also was airlifted to the hospital, but her injuries were not thought to be life-threatening, according to the St. Cloud Times, which received a statement from the Sherburne County Sheriff's Department.
The passenger was not identified in the statement. Neither rider was wearing a helmet, according to the Times.
The crash is under investigation.
