AUG. 7
Illegal fireworks. Someone called police to report loud and disturbing fireworks near Pierce Street NE and 129th Avenue NE. An officer observed the fireworks and spoke with the resident who was setting them off. The 37-year-old man told the officer he purchased the fireworks in Wisconsin. He was cited for possession and use of prohibited fireworks.
AUG. 12
Theft. A man stole a cake from the freezer at Culver's, 10550 Baltimore St. NE.
AUG. 1
Vandalism. Someone threw eggs at a home and a vehicle on the 12000 block of Idaho Avenue N.
AUG. 5
Theft. Someone stole an exercise bicycle from Lifetime Fitness, 11989 Champlin Dr.
AUG. 6
Theft. A jet ski was stolen from the 11000 block of Mississippi Drive.
AUG. 12
Miscellaneous. A woman from a home on the 7400 block of West Circle NE. called police to report that her ex-husband shaved their child's hair off while he had visitation. An officer informed the woman that it wasn't a crime. The woman insisted that it be documented. This is the second report this year of the same incident.
AUG. 14
Suspicious activity. Someone called police to report that a man with a rifle was shooting near Riverboat Food and Fuel, 7883 East River Road. Officers located two men and discovered the rifle was actually a large stick and the shots fired were actually firecrackers.
AUG. 13
Patrol request. A woman called police to request extra patrols during the night in the 100 block of 83rd Avenue NE. The woman said she has found many used condoms thrown about and that there are children who play in the area.
AUG. 14
Medical. Police responded to a call regarding a male at the bottom of the pool at Lifetime Fitness, 1200 E. Moore Lake Drive. By the time officers arrived the man was out of the pool and breathing and talking. He refused any further medical attention.
AUG. 18
Theft. A GPS unit was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on the 8200 block of Eastwood Road.
AUG. 21
Disorderly conduct. Police arrested a 55-year-old Mounds View man for disorderly conduct on the 7600 block of Woodlawn Drive.
AUG. 7
Theft. A woman called police to report a theft from her vehicle while it was parked at Rum River Central Park on the 18000 block of Roanoke Street NW. She told officers she went for walk and when she returned, the passenger side door of her vehicle was open and her knitting bag was missing. The vehicle had been locked, but the woman had left the windows open a couple of inches.
AUG. 14
Theft. A woman called police to report a theft on the 17900 block of Germanium Street NW. The woman told police that for the past two nights, someone had siphoned gas from her lawn mower and her daughter's car.
AUG. 17
Theft. Police responded to a theft call on the 15800 block of Ferret Street NW. Someone stole a gun, a GPS unit and other items from an unlocked vehicle.
AUG. 18
Traffic violation. Officers responded to a reported hit-and-run on Silver Lake Road and 33rd Avenue. According to police reports, a vehicle driven by a woman was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by a man. The man stopped but refused to provide any information and left the scene. Police were able to find him using his license plate number. The man was questioned and mailed a citation for failure to provide information at the scene of an accident, a misdemeanor.
