Cheech and Chong, who for decades have gotten laughs with subtle and not-so-subtle references to getting high, are coming to Minneapolis as part of the duo's "Get It Legal" tour in the United States and Canada.

The comedians are partnering on the tour with the Marijuana Policy Project, a national organization that lobbies for medicinal use of marijuana and for regulation of the drug, instead of criminalization.

Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong will appear March 26 at the State Theatre in a follow-up to their recent reunion tour, "Cheech & Chong: Light Up America," where they performed together for the first time in more than 25 years.

They "decided to use their ... tour to raise awareness for marijuana policy reform," the MPP's Andrea Farnum said in announcing the Minneapolis stop. "By teaming up with MPP, the duo is fusing comedy and activism to bring attention to the need for more sensible marijuana laws."

Members of MPP will be at the theater to reach out to supporters, Farnum said.

Complete information about the tour and tickets can be found at www. cheechandchongtour.com and www.livenation.com. Tickets are $39.50 to $55 in advance and $44.50 to $60 on the day of the show.
