A man suffered life-threatening injuries this morning when he was shot multiple times in south Minneapolis.
Police found the man about 6:30 a.m. lying in front of an apartment complex at 2312 Blaisdell Av. South. He was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he went in and out of surgery "a number of times," said police spokesman Sgt. William Palmer.
His exact condition is unknown, but Palmer said he suffered life-threatening injuries. Authorities do not know his identity.
An altercation started in the building's entryway and led up to the shooting, Palmer said. It's unclear what the motive was. There are no arrests or suspect descriptions.
"It doesn't sound like we have much to go on," Palmer said.
It's too early to say whether the shooting is related to the homicide of teenager Alisha Neely in north Minneapolis late Friday or the shooting of two boys on a Metro Transit bus in north Minneapolis Saturday night, police said. (The boys are recovering at a hospital.)
