YOUR GUIDE TO THE TWIN CITIES
A fight inside a downtown Minneapolis nightclub moved into the street, where a 23-year-old man was shot and wounded early Friday and driven to a hospital with police in pursuit, authorities said.
The shooting occurred about 2:30 a.m. near N. 3rd Street and Hennepin Avenue S., said police spokesman Sgt. Jesse Garcia.
According to police:
Inside the Karma nightclub, at 315 1st Av. N., two "separate factions" began fighting, Garcia said. Karma "has a history of having some unsavory characters inside there," he said.
The groups moved outside, and that was when shots were fired and two cars sped from the scene. One got stuck in traffic, while the other continued west.
A police officer approached the stopped car. Someone in the vehicle said, "Shot, shot!" and pointed at the other car. The officer pursued the second car until it stopped at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
The man who was shot was admitted with a nonlife-threatening wound.
No arrests have been made.
