Reward raised to $10,000 in Minneapolis shooting

Last update: November 18, 2009 - 12:14 AM

Minneapolis police, Minnesota Crime Stoppers and the family of a slain Minneapolis man have again increased the reward offered for information leading to his killer.

Following donations and a September fundraiser, the family and friends of Paul Fisher boosted the reward from $1,000 to $10,000.

Fisher, 27, was shot to death about 2 a.m. July 25 in the stairwell of his apartment building in the 5300 block of Chicago Avenue S.

Police, along with Fisher's mother, Patti Swedberg, and representatives from Crime Stoppers and the crime-fighting group MAD DADS planned to host a news conference today at City Hall to announce the increased reward.

By using Crime Stoppers of Minnesota, tipsters can remain anonymous. Information about unusual events, people or vehicles in the area at the time of the killing may provide the lead investigators need.

Anyone with information may contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), go to the Crime Stoppers website, www.crimestoppersmn.org, or text message TIP674 plus a message to CRIMES (274637).
