The FBI and the Minnesota Bankers Association are offering a reward of up to $5,000 each for the arrest and conviction of two Twin Cities serial bank robbers.
The first robber is believed responsible for an attempted robbery at Bank Cherokee in St. Paul on Tuesday, when he was thwarted by a teller who refused to hand over cash. He also is believed to be responsible for robberies at the MidCountry Bank in Inver Grove Heights on Sept. 25, the Central Bank in South St. Paul on Sept. 30, a Wells Fargo Bank in Minneapolis on Oct. 6, the Bank of America in Hudson, Wis., on Oct. 9, and the First State Bank of Rosemount on Wednesday.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall with a slender to medium build. He has been known to wear a baseball cap with dark sunglasses on top of the hat and to cover his face with a white or black bandanna.
The second robber is believed responsible for stickups at the Building Trades Credit Union in Inver Grove Heights on Oct. 8 and the U.S. Bank in Burnsville on Aug. 20.
He is described as a black man in his 30s, about 6 feet 2 inches tall and 200 to 250 pounds. He has worn a yellow or orange road construction vest, clear construction-type goggles and tan work gloves.
