Man arrested in Minneapolis' sixth homicide

Minneapolis police announced Thursday that they have arrested a suspect in a homicide that occurred Monday night, the city's sixth of the year.

The suspect, arrested about 9 p.m. Wednesday, was described as an 18-year-old man. He's being held in the Hennepin County jail pending charges.

The victim, Juan Francisco Canas Ramirez, 32, was found dead in his apartment near Lake Nokomis about 7 p.m. on Monday. According to the Hennepin County medical examiner's office, he died of multiple sharp-force injuries.

Ramirez's body was discovered by a relative who had gone to his home in the 5700 block of Bossen Terrace after not hearing from him.
