Police said Wednesday that the fatal shooting of a man in south Minneapolis late Tuesday appears to be an act of violence between people who knew each other.

No one is in custody, police spokesman John Elder said from the scene, along 13th Avenue S. between 22nd and 24th Streets.

When officers arrived, they found the man dead in the boulevard along 13th in the East Phillips neighborhood.

Elder said Wednesday that he was "confident in saying that this does not appear to be a random incident."

Anyone with information is urged to call 612-692-8477 or to text 847 411, enter MPD and the information.

Wednesday police raced to a confrontation where shots were fired. That location, on 25th St. between 12th and 13th Avenues South, is a block from the homicide. Elder said no one was injured and police had no evidence to suggest a link between the two incidents.
