A 65-year-old woman was identified as the victim in Thursday's Lowry Hill condo fire, the fourth fire fatality this year in Minneapolis.

Barbara Nepper died of complications of thermal injuries at Hennepin County Medical Center, hours after the blaze at the Groveland Terrace Condos. The manner of her death is still under investigation, according to the Hennepin County medical examiner's office.

The fire started about 4:15 a.m. in a first-floor unit, forcing residents to leave the three-building condo complex across from Walker Art Center. Firefighters found Nepper as they battled the blaze, fire officials have said.

The four people who have died in Minneapolis fires so far outnumber homicide victims — two — in the city this year.
