A Minneapolis man was charged Friday with raping a woman near Loring Park.
Henry Lean Jackson, 48, was arrested Thursday and charged with sexually assaulting a woman in August 2007.
Earlier this year, he had been convicted of another, separate sexual assault near the same park during the same month, according to a complaint. In connection with that case, he had provided a DNA sample. It matched DNA found on the victim in the new case.
According to Friday's complaint:
Minneapolis police were called to Hennepin County Medical Center on Aug. 19 after a woman reported she'd been grabbed by a man the night before. She said he had covered her nose and mouth with his hand and said, "If you scream, I'll kill you," then dragged her to a staircase and raped her.
Jackson was charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of kidnapping. He is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
