An elderly man found dead in his apartment in the Cedar-Riverside area on Tuesday had been slain, authorities said Saturday.

Jama Adan Mohamed, 86, had multiple traumatic brain injuries, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, which identified him and released details on the cause of death on Saturday.

The Somali immigrant had lived on the ninth floor of a high-rise building, the Elliot Twins Apartment at 1225 S. 8th Street.

Minneapolis police were called to the apartment late Tuesday afternoon, and Mohamed was declared dead there at 4:19 p.m.

Nobody has been arrested, and police continue to investigate.
