Light rail traffic was disrupted briefly in Minneapolis Friday evening after a driver who experienced a medical emergency turned onto Metro Transit’s Blue Line tracks near E. 35th Street and stopped her vehicle on the southbound track. The incident happened about 6:50 p.m.

Metro Transit spokesman John Siqveland said the woman was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. She was not hit by any trains.

Trains traveling both directions were routed through the area on a single track temporarily.

The vehicle was towed about 7:20 p.m. and trains were soon back on scheduled, Siqveland said.
