Plans to serve alcohol at Lake Harriet's Bread & Pickle eatery are moving forward at City Hall, with a public hearing planned for Monday afternoon.

Owner Kim Bartmann has been trying since 2011 to serve alcohol at the two-year-old eatery. Last week, the Park Board supported the plan, which included a revised area where alcohol will be allowed.

Lake Harriet is one of the area's most popular lakes, drawing hundreds on summer evenings for concerts at the band shell.

The designated drinking area will be separated by planters and benches. A staff report says Bartmann plans to have indoor seating for 25 people and outdoor seating for 108 people.

Monday's hearing at the city's regulatory committee meeting is at 1:30 p.m. at City Hall. Its decision will be subject to full City Council approval.
