Minneapolis police are asking for help in locating a 6-month-old baby boy abducted from a foster home by his 16-year-old mother.

A little after 1:45 p.m., officers responded to a home at the 2400 block of Sheridan Avenue N. on a report that a non-custodial parent had taken her child, according to a press release. Police said the mother "might pose a threat" to the baby.

The baby has a birthmark on his right arm and was wearing a red shirt and brown plaid shorts when he was taken. His mother was described as a black female, 5'04," with long black hair.

Police believe the mother and baby are still in Minneapolis and probably on the North Side.

Anyone who has seen the baby is asked to call 911 within Minneapolis or 612-673-2345 if outside the city.
