The state of repair, post-tornado

The latest statistics on tornado-damaged properties from the city of Minneapolis:

• Of 206 properties that suffered major damage, 146 were repaired or in the process of being repaired, 46 were demolished or demolition is pending and 14 are still unrepaired.

• Of 1,029 properties with orders from city inspectors to make structural repairs, 823, or 80 percent, have been resolved.

• The city reported that 113 North Side properties still have some type of roof damage: 31 are in the process of making repairs; 48 are vacant, and 34 are occupied with open inspection orders requiring they be repaired. Of that number, 27 are owner-occupied and 17 of them have been given extensions; 10 properties have open roof orders to which the property owner has not responded.
