A teenager was charged Tuesday with being one of two people who robbed a cabdriver at gunpoint last week in north Minneapolis.
Soldon M. Armstrong, 18, of Minneapolis, was charged in Hennepin County District Court with first-degree aggravated robbery. Armstrong was being held in jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
No other arrests have been made in the holdup.
Armstrong was apprehended Sunday night after officers responded to a disturbance near a bus stop near 7th Street on Nicollet Mall, police said. When the officers converged on the man, he started to run but was pushed to the ground, police Lt. Michael Fossum said.
The Yellow Cab driver was robbed by two passengers of his cellphone, wallet and cash shortly before 11 p.m. March 18. Four days earlier, another driver with the same company, William Harper, 56, of Roseville, was shot and killed in north Minneapolis. Samuel Johosephat Taylor, 20, of Robbinsdale, has been charged in the killing.
