A 68-year-old woman died last week of injuries suffered when she was struck by a vehicle last month while crossing a street in Watertown, Minn.

Carol Wiggins, of Watertown, died Thursday as a result of her injuries from the Dec. 16 accident, in which she was struck by a vehicle entering the intersection of Territorial Road and Westminster Avenue in Watertown, according to Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson.

The accident happened at 6:17 p.m. that day, and visibility was limited.

Wiggins was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis in critical condition, where she died.

According to the Carver County attorney's office, "Tragically, the evidence we have demonstrates that Ms. Wiggins simply did not see the vehicle entering the intersection and that the driver simply did not see Ms. Wiggins entering the crosswalk."

The county attorney's office will not file criminal charges against the driver.
