A man who is facing felony charges for distributing child pornography by way of the Internet is the subject of a police search.

Keaton Patrick Murphy, 20, was last seen leaving the Hennepin County jail around 7:15 p.m. Thursday. Friends and family members have not seen or heard from him since his booking and release pending formal complaint, said officer Shawn Jackson of the University of Minnesota police.

Police have been unsuccessful at locating Murphy at his last known address on the 600 block of SE. Fulton St., which is near the University of Minnesota.

Murphy's parents told police that he might be depressed and suicidal, Jackson said.

Murphy is white, 5 feet 11 and 250 pounds. He has sandy brown hair and hazel eyes.

Anybody with information is asked to call University of Minnesota Police at 612-624-7828.
