Weather stalls search for snowmobiler

.

Last update: February 7, 2010 - 11:27 PM

The search for the body of a missing snowmobiler has been suspended because of bad weather and open water on the St. Croix River where he disappeared, the Washington County Sheriff's Department reported Sunday.

The rider, identified during the weekend as Timothy Michael Pease of St. Croix Beach, went missing on Friday.

His vehicle was recovered from the bottom of the St. Croix River by members of the Sheriff's Water Recovery Unit.

But the search for the body was not resumed Sunday as snow began to fall on the metro area.
