3rd assailant found guilty in home-invasion case

Last update: November 18, 2009 - 7:36 PM

A third assailant in a Lake Elmo home invasion a year ago has been convicted of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and sentenced to three years in prison.

Richard Paul Delrio, 46, of St. Paul, also was fined $4,100 on Monday in Washington County District Court. Delrio's accomplices, Roger Lee Trice and Richard David Koepke, were sentenced this year.

According to a criminal complaint, the men invaded a duplex on Lake Elmo Avenue N., demanding money and drugs and pouring gasoline on two residents. One occupant, Richard Jacobson, told police that he was pistol-whipped.

Judge William Eckstrum dismissed an additional charge of assault and three counts of burglary as part of Delrio's agreement to plead guilty.
