Little Canada man pleads guilty to sex with teen

Last update: November 6, 2009 - 11:40 PM

A 27-year-old Little Canada man pleaded guilty Friday in Ramsey County District Court to having sex with a 13-year-old St. Paul boy.

Yury Tarshis will be sentenced Dec. 21 by Judge Michael DeCourcy after pleading guilty to third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

According to the charges, the boy told police he met Tarshis in an Internet chat room and Tarshis sent him nude photos.

Tarshis went to the boy's home in August. The teenager said "he was scared and did not know what to do" so he let Tarshis have sex with him, the complaint said. When the boy's older sister came home, she found Tarshis and the boy naked in the boy's bedroom. Tarshis tried to flee, but the boy's sister held him there until police arrived.
