YOUR GUIDE TO THE TWIN CITIES
A 13-year-old boy who met a man on the Internet and made arrangements for the man to come to his home told police that "he was scared and did not know what to do" so he let the man have sex with him, court documents said.
Yury Tarshis, 27, of Little Canada, has been charged in Ramsey County District Court with third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
According to the criminal complaint filed Monday, the boy said that he met Tarshis on an Internet chat line and that Tarshis sent the boy nude photos.
The man came to the boy's home in St. Paul on Saturday and initiated sex with him, the complaint said.
When the boy's older sister came home, she found Tarshis and the boy naked in the boy's bedroom, the complaint said. Tarshis tried to flee, but the boy's sister held him there until police arrived.
The boy was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul for a sex assault exam. Authorities searched Tarshis' apartment on Sunday and took a laptop computer, cell phone, a camera memory card and a photo CD.
Tarshis is free on bail and was ordered to have no contact with the boy. His next court appearance is Sept. 24.
