East metro police blotter

BLAINE

DEC. 5

Drugs. A man was pulled over by police for erratic driving on Ulysses Street NE. and 125th Avenue NE. While speaking with the man the officer noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The man admitted to smoking marijuana earlier. Paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana were located in the vehicle. He was issued a citation.

DEC. 6

Theft. A vehicle was stolen from the 8700 block of Austin Street NE. The vehicle was unlocked and the keys were in it.

DEC. 8

Theft. A snowblower was stolen from an unlocked shed on the 9600 block of Taylor Street NE.

LANDFALL

DEC. 3

Property damage. Graffiti was spray-painted on the side of a trailer home on the 300 block of Dellwood Square. The rear tires of the vehicle were slashed and the right rear window was smashed.

DEC. 8

Theft. A blue 2007 Ford Escape was stolen from Champp's parking lot, 1734 Adolphus St. The keys were in the ignition and a purse, laptop computer and two cell phones were in the vehicle.

DEC. 11

Burglary. Someone entered a home on the 1800 block of County Road C and stole a cell phone, purse and handguns. The owner's vehicle was stolen earlier and the house keys were in the vehicle.

MENDOTA HEIGHTS

NOV. 29

Theft. Three vehicles were broken into and had items stolen from them while they were parked in an underground garage on the 1000 block of Hwy. 13.

DEC. 4

Fraud. The police met with a woman on the 500 block of Callahan Place who reported she had been notified that she had won a Mercedes vehicle and $50,000 in cash. She sent a money gram of $495 to Jamaica in order to receive her prizes. She later determined it was a scam.

OAKDALE

DEC. 7

Suspicious activity. A woman on the 3800 block of Granada Lane reported a flickering light in a house across the pond from her home. The police determined the flickering light was Christmas lights, not a fire. The Fire Department also responded.

DEC. 8

Drugs. Three students were observed exiting a boys bathroom at Tartan High School, 828 Greenway Av., and one of the boys placed an item into his pants pocket. The boys went in different directions and were acting suspicious when they saw an officer approaching the area. After further investigation, one of the boys admitted to selling marijuana to the other two boys. A plastic baggie containing six individually packaged dime-sized marijuana baggies were stashed in a Kleenex box in the bathroom. All three admitted to their acts, were charged accordingly and the parents were notified.

DEC. 12

Suspicious activity. An officer observed a parked vehicle with the engine running and windows fogged at Northdale Park on the 5300 block of Granada Avenue. Officers identified a 20-year-old man and 20-year-old woman in the vehicle and they stated they were in "a heavy make-out session." They were advised not to do this type of activity in a park.

ST. ANTHONY

DEC. 10

Assault. A 23-year-old woman reported that she went out to her vehicle, on the 3900 block of Silver Lake Road, and was struck in the head from behind. She was brought to the hospital by family members before calling police.
