Stillwater police plan a ground search Sunday for a 24-year-old woman who disappeared a week ago Friday.

There's no sign of foul play, said Sgt. Jeff Stender, and it appears that alcohol may have played a role.

"But there's nothing definitive at this point in any direction, really," he added.

Abbey Russell, 24, originally of Wisconsin, moved to Stillwater recently and is a server at Pub 112 in Stillwater.

A request to boat owners to check their vessels and surrounding property helped lead to the discovery Friday of a bottle of Mouton Cadet, the brand of a Bordeaux wine that Russell was believed to have been carrying that night, Stender said.

Sunday's ground search will involve steep ravines where Russell is known to have walked. Police are not asking for the public's help in the search, Stender said.

Russell left her home about midnight April 24 and hasn't been seen since.

"We're trying to explore what might have happened, who she talked to, that sort of thing," Stender said.
