County park violation. A warning for not having a county parking permit was left on a vehicle with a horse trailer that was parked in Pine Point Regional Park, 11900 Norell Ave.

Hitchhiker. A male walking on Manning Avenue near 75th Street was reported throwing things at passing vehicles.

Animal concern. Someone called the Sheriff's Department wondering what to do with a dead woodpecker they found on the sidewalk in front of their home. They were advised they could put it in a bag and place it in their garbage or leave it in the woods behind their home.

Noise complaint/Suspicious activity. A warning ticket was left on the windshield of a vehicle whose alarm was continually sounding in the 5000 block of 149th Street.
MARCH 19
Suspicious activity. A resident in the 14000 block of Flay Avenue reported returning home to a garage filled with smoke. Nothing was found to be on fire and the smoke cleared when the garage door was opened. The next morning a smoldering flower pot was left near the garage of the home.

Loose cows. Several cows were reported on the road in the area of Keats Avenue north of Hwy. I-94. Contact was made with the owner, who said they'd take care of the situation.
OAKDALE
MARCH 18
DWI. An officer pulled over a vehicle he observed driving westbound in the eastbound lane in the 7400 block of 10th Street at 2:15 a.m. The driver was arrested for DWI after doing poorly on field sobriety tests and failing a preliminary breath test.
Theft. A man who was stopped trying to leave Fleet Farm, 5635 Hadley Ave., without paying for a $1.59 bottle of Mountain Dew admitted to having a small container of heroin on him. He was booked into the Washington County jail.

Suspicious activity. An officer was flagged down by someone in the 6500 block of 31st Street who said they just saw a man walk out of a nearby swamp and into another one. The complainant said the man's legs were wet. The officer was unable to locate anyone in the area.

Littering. The driver of a vehicle in the area of Langly Avenue and 190th Street was cited for littering after a deputy saw a pop can thrown from the vehicle into a ditch.
WEST LAKELAND TOWNSHIP

Animal concern. A dead bald eagle was reported in a ditch on 10th Street near Stagecoach Trail. The caller had already talked to the DNR who advised them to leave the bird. The Sheriff's Department contacted Public Works.
WOODBURY
MARCH 17
Found property. A box of miscellaneous paperwork, including financial documents and social security information, was found in the 6600 block of Buckingham Road. Police determined the owner had been in the hospital for several days. The box was returned to their residence in Maplewood.
MARCH 21
Theft. A knee scooter was taken after being accidentally left in a parking lot in the 9000 block of Hudson Road. An investigation found someone who was parked nearby loaded the scooter in his vehicle when it was left behind.
MARCH 22
Suspicious activity. Someone in the 8300 block of Emerald Lane called police concerned that two males watching a wild turkey were going to kill it with a golf club. An officer found two turkeys in the area but did not locate the males.
