The Ramsey County medical examiner has identified an Oak Park Heights resident found dead at his townhouse Tuesday as Nils Christian Johnson, 39.

Johnson's death is now considered a homicide, but investigators said Wednesday it doesn't appear to be random. No one has been arrested.

On Sunday, officers went to Johnson's home in the 14600 block of 62nd Street in response to a request for a welfare check by family members who couldn't reach him. Officers didn't find him inside, and police began a missing person investigation.

Early Tuesday morning, officers returned and found his body, the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) said. Further details about the case have yet to be disclosed.

Police are investigating with help from BCA agents, the Washington County Sheriff's Office and the medical examiner.

A previous homicide in Oak Park Heights, a city of about 4,800 residents near Stillwater, was in 1998.
