The Washington County Workforce Center will host a Mini Job Fair from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, March 30, at the Stillwater Government Center. The fair will be in Room 14 of the center's lower level. Park in the west parking lot.

• Goodwill Easter Seals: cashier, backroom associate;

Stillwater

Mountain bike idea goes to open house

The city of Stillwater will hold a public information meeting on April 2 at 7 p.m. at City Hall (216 4th Street North) regarding a proposed amendment to the Brown's Creek Park Management Plan. The amendment would allow bicycles on a designated mountain bike trail. The Stillwater Area Scholastic Cycling Association proposed the trail.

The meeting will include a presentation by city staff on the history of the park. The cycling association will make a presentation on mountain biking, the local high school mountain bike team and the proposal for the park. A question-and-answer session will follow.

Boomsite drawings will be shown

The public can see drawings of proposed improvements to the St. Croix Boomsite and comment on them at an open house from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, at Stillwater City Hall.

The Friends of the St. Croix Boom Site will also be sharing a short presentation entitled "A Vision for the Future of the St. Croix Boom Site." The Friends group and several government agencies are working together on the project, funded with a federal grant.

City plans cleanup, document shredding

Spring Cleanup Day will be held on Saturday, May 2, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cottage Grove Public Works Garage, 8635 W. Pt. Douglas Road S.

Cottage Grove residents can drop off household goods and unwanted items for fees that vary depending on items. Hazardous waste and electronics will be accepted free from households only.

Document shredding also will be offered. No more than four boxes per customer will be accepted.

St. Croix Region

National Park Service seeks volunteer hosts

Interested in spending the summer camped next to a wild and scenic river while helping to provide information to visitors? The National Park Service is seeking volunteers interested in serving as campground hosts at Earl Park Landing on the Namekagon River during the 2015 season.

Hosts are expected to work four to five days per week, especially on weekends and heavy use holidays. Daily schedules may vary. Depending on the length of stay of the hosts, there are also opportunities to assist with special events and/or at the Namekagon River Visitor Center.
