A St. Paul man allegedly used an air rifle disguised as a shotgun to threaten a driver who parked in a handicap spot, according to a charge filed Wednesday.

Ryno Jonck, 34, is charged in Ramsey County District Court with one count of terroristic threats for allegedly threatening two people on Dec. 29 at an apartment complex in the 200 block of McKnight Road.

According to the complaint: A woman and man parked their vehicle in a handicap space. Later, Jonck allegedly used his vehicle to block their vehicle, and argued with them. Jonck left his vehicle, walked into the apartment building and returned with a dark-colored gun that looked like a pump-style, sawed-off shotgun. The woman and man apologized to Jonck for parking in the space.

"[Jonck] responded by saying, 'Do you think if I was to shoot you … an apology would mean anything?' " the complaint said. The woman told police that she feared for her life.

Police were called to the scene about 6:48 p.m. and found Jonck in his apartment. Police found a spring-powered airsoft rifle in the apartment. It had been altered to look like a pump action shotgun, the complaint said.

Jonck denied making the threat, the complaint said.

"He stated that he was unhappy about the fact that they parked in the handicapped parking spot," the charge said. "He denied threatening them. He did admit that he brought the rifle out with him when he confronted them about parking in the handicap parking spot. He stated that he did so for his own safety."
