A Maplewood man missing since Tuesday has been found alive, police said.

Arthur Robert Arnold Jr., 84, was spotted walking in a rural area of far southern Dakota County on Wednesday morning, said Paul Schnell, chief of the Maplewood Police Department.

Arnold was taken to a hospital, where he was being treated for exposure, but he didn't appear to have any other injuries, Schnell said.

"The family of Mr. Arnold and the Maplewood Police Department are appreciative for all the attention and assistance in helping locate him," Schnell added.

Arnold's vehicle, a maroon 2010 Lexus RX 350, has not been found.

Arnold, who is believed to be in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease, left his Maplewood home at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday to go to a St. Paul barbershop on Payne Avenue. He did not arrive.
