JULY 8

Scam report. A resident in the 4000 block of Morning Dove Avenue reported receiving a call from someone who said they repaired computers. The caller asked questions about the resident’s computer. The resident believed the caller was working toward asking for credit card information before he ended the call.

JULY 9

Neighbor complaint. A man in the 8000 block of 89th Street got into a verbal confrontation with his neighbor after he observed the neighbor swerve his vehicle in an attempt to hit the man’s dog.

JULY 7

Suspicious object. A deputy assisted in diffusing a hand grenade that was found in a basement closet in the 2000 block of 130th Street.

LAKE ELMO

JULY 8

Suspicious activity. A jogger in the 5000 block of Jerome Avenue Court reported feeling uneasy after the male driver of a vehicle asked her for directions while two other males in the vehicle laughed. The vehicle drove slowly by her several minutes earlier.

Neighbor complaint. The Sheriff’s Department received a call from someone in the 60 block of Grove Court complaining about neighbor kids playing basketball. The complainant said they didn’t like the sound of the ball on the cement.

JULY 10

Suspicious activity. A deputy checked on two men in a van who were reported putting something in mailboxes in the area of Juniper Street and Warner Avenue. The men told the deputy they were putting telephone directories in the mailboxes and would be in the area for two days.
