Authorities have identified the two men who were shocked, one of them fatally, this week while working on construction of an electrical transmission line in south-central Minnesota, authorities said.

The incident occurred about 8:45 a.m. Monday at the CapX2020 Brookings County-Hampton construction project near Fairfax, according to the Renville County Sheriff's Office.

Killed was Brett D. Binman, 26, of North St. Paul, according to the Sheriff's Office. Still hospitalized is Joshua M. Roberts, 24, of Osseo, Wis. His condition was not immediately known.

Great River Energy of the Twin Cities is heading the 250-mile project's construction.

Investigators are trying to determined how the men were hurt at the work site, about 25 miles northwest of New Ulm.

The transmission line is expected to expand electric growth in southern and western Minnesota, as well as parts of Scott and Dakota counties in the south metro area. It is expected to be complete early next year.
