A Chippewa Falls, Wis., man died Friday while sky diving in St. Croix County.

St. Croix County sheriff's deputies were called at 2:18 p.m. to the Baldwin Sky Diving Club west of the village of Baldwin, where CPR was being performed on Todd Jacobson, 39. Jacobson, who had made thousands of jumps, was taken to the Baldwin Area Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses told officials that Jacobson's parachute deployed normally, but just prior to landing it made an abrupt turn in the air. The Sheriff's Office is investigating.
